What better way to kick off the new dance season than a post about what we're about at BDC!? See our Monday Minute with Miss Meagan for more on this!
Today is officially the first day of our 2018-2019 Dance Season. We kicked off Saturday with a Back to Dance BBQ as a chance to say thank you to our families, but also to provide the opportunity to get to know new families, have families meet each other or reconnect with those from last season! It was a smashing success!
We had a number of families mention how fabulous it was that we did this... It made me step back and see that, ya, that is pretty cool. See, to us, it is really nothing, it's just what we do! Our values, our mission, our goal for BDC is interwoven into every single thing we do at BDC. This BBQ included! If it creates that family atmosphere, if it is going above and beyond, if it is supporting our dancers or their families in any sort of way, we're all over it!
So What is BDC?
Bravo Dance Co. was founded on the principles of Experience. Learn. Grow. Dance! This is exactly what we aim to do! Dance class is not about me. It's not about our team of educators, what we want, etc. It is simply what our dancers and families need dance class to be for them. The goal is to always ensure dance is fulfilling some need for our kiddos. This drives what happens inside the studio each week. Further on that, is what can the studio provide for a child? Well, this is where the family comes in! We aim to provide a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment, that not only fosters growth in the dance studio, but also in all areas of one's life!
Well What about the Dancing?
Yes, we are a dance school. So of course we care about learning dance skills! We want to provide all students opportunity, and experiences that they may have only dreamed of. We have had the opportunity to add a number of exciting events, shows, and trips to our resume, and we cannot wait to see what else the future holds for our dancers.
These sorts of activities and opportunities are things you cannot take away from a child. These sorts of things provide so many teaching and learning moments, so many memories, etc. Having the opportunity to learn from various professionals, to hear stories from across the world, to perform in a venue in front of a crowd at the Harlem Globetrotters... these are such incredible things to be able to provide for a child!
We want to see great dancers being formed, but most importantly, we aim to create great people along that journey. This is why the experience we provide is just as important as the dancing itself.
Putting It All Together
When you put family, what dance provides for a child, and the opportunity and experience all together.... you get BDC.
We couldn't be more proud of the family we have created and hope you are able to see our passion through all that we do!
